Travel Baseball Ohio (TBO) is a statewide digital platform providing trusted information, verified services, and educational resources for families, coaches, and organizations across Ohio.
Travel Baseball Ohio was created to bring clarity to a space that can feel overwhelming for families. Travel baseball offers tremendous opportunity, but it can also be confusing and difficult to navigate without trusted guidance. With decades of coaching experience in youth and travel sports, we’ve seen how often families make important decisions without clear, centralized information.
Families are left trying to understand team expectations, tournament levels, training options, and long-term development paths — often relying on scattered opinions. TBO was built to change that. Not as a ranking site or recruiting service, but as an educational platform providing credible information, verified services, and practical insight from people inside the game. We exist so families can move forward with confidence — not confusion.

Our mission is simple: to simplify travel baseball in Ohio by providing credible information, verified resources, and educational content that empowers families to make informed decisions.
We believe travel baseball should prioritize development, opportunity, and positive experiences — not politics or pressure. That means encouraging transparency in costs and expectations, promoting long-term player growth over short-term wins, and connecting families with trusted teams, trainers, facilities, and organizations across the state. Every article, listing, and partnership on TBO is guided by one principle: help families make smarter, more confident decisions.
Our vision is to become Ohio’s most trusted digital home for travel baseball information and connection. As the platform grows, so does our commitment to expanding educational resources, strengthening verified partnerships, and fostering meaningful collaboration across the state’s baseball community.
We envision a travel baseball landscape where families understand what they’re committing to, organizations operate with clarity and credibility, and player development is valued over short-term results. Through expanded content, statewide partnerships, and educational initiatives, TBO will continue raising the standard of transparency and trust within the game.
Travel Baseball Ohio serves families seeking clarity before making important commitments, coaches and teams looking to strengthen development and visibility, and facilities, trainers, leagues, and tournament directors striving to build credibility within the baseball community. Whether you’re navigating your first tryout season or leading an established organization, TBO provides trusted information, meaningful exposure, and practical resources designed to support every level of Ohio’s travel baseball landscape.
As the Founder of TravelBaseballOhio.com (TBO), Jim calls the game from the dugout—overseeing all business operations while leading content development, creative direction, and marketing. His focus is simple: player development, transparency, and education, giving families a better game plan and helping businesses and organizations communicate clearly and effectively.
Jim brings more than 40 years of coaching experience to the TBO lineup, primarily in youth baseball, with time spent coaching softball, football, and basketball as well. That includes six seasons in travel baseball, providing firsthand insight into the costs, curveballs, and tough decisions families face at the travel level.
Beyond the diamond, Jim serves as Managing Partner and Program Director of Alpha Dawg Flag Football, Chief of Umpires for Olmsted Umpires, and a former recreation league board member. These roles give him a full-field view of youth sports operations and directly shape how TBO is built and led.
Professionally, Jim is a Visual Information Specialist for the Department of Defense and owner of Mace Designs, bringing 30+ years of award-winning experience in visual storytelling, branding, and digital design to help TBO’s families, clients, and partners tell their stories the right way.
At his core, Jim is the “Chief Baseball Dude” who believes better information leads to better experiences—for players, families, and the game itself.
As Sales Manager for TravelBaseballOhio.com (TBO), Matt builds strong, lasting relationships across the travel baseball community by connecting teams, coaches, directors, facilities, equipment vendors, and tournament and tryout organizers. He works at the intersection of communication and opportunity, helping partners collaborate more effectively while ensuring families have access to trusted resources that support player development and organizational growth.
With nearly two decades of business sales experience — including 17 years with AT&T and more than two years with T-Mobile — Matt brings a consultative, solutions-driven mindset to TBO. His telecommunications background sharpened his ability to listen, problem-solve, and deliver measurable results. He now applies those skills to help sports organizations grow, streamline operations, and create better experiences for athletes and families.
Sports have always played a central role in his life. He played football at the collegiate level and competed in baseball through college and into the semi-professional ranks. Growing up in travel baseball, he experienced firsthand the dedication and sacrifice required from families and coaches, long before today’s technology simplified scheduling and communication.
In addition to his playing career, Matt has coached youth football for more than six years, giving him a deep appreciation for the time and heart coaches invest in their teams. At his core, Matt is committed to helping kids get involved, stay involved, and thrive through sports.
